Since 2015, I am the art director for Architectural Record. Going back over 130 years, this monthly magazine is a “record” of architectural and design trends in the industry. This award-Digital Editionwinning magazine has 93,000 subscribers and its primary audience are architects and designers. Architectural Record has such a huge following that readers are known to save years and years of back issues on their book shelves. Folios range from 150 to over 300 pages.

Media kits or media planning guides are promotional pieces geared towards interested advertisers of magazine brands. They usually contain an overview of what industry the magazine brand covers, infographics illustrating target audience of the magazines, editorial calendars and explanations of various products the brands offer. These planners usually range from simple 8 to 16-page perfect bound pieces to more complex planners containing folders to house additional promos.

The Young Presidents Organization of Detroit has a annual conference at a remote location, this one was located in London. The theme of the event was “United in the Kingdom.” Starting with the logo, I developed a crest that included the YPO logo, animals that represent Detroit (a Lion and Tiger) and with American and British flags. Various event related pieces were designed including brochures, postcards, newsletters, badges and signage.
